Podolí (Přerov District)

Podolí ( German Podol, formerly Podoly ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers east of Přerov and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Podolí located in the Podbeskydská to pahorkatina ( Vorbeskidenhügelland ) associated ridge Záhoří in the valley of the brook Podolský creek. North-east rise the Plazy (315 m), in the southwest the Nivky (265 m).

Neighboring towns are Radslavice, Sušice and Pavlovice u Přerova in the north, Sisma and Hradcany in the northeast, Nahošovice in the east, Dřevohostice, Novosady, Turovice and Domaželice the southeast, Bohemia and Prusy in the south, Horni Moštěnice and Újezdec the southwest, Želatovice in the west and Tučín in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the town took place in 1349. Podolí always been one since the beginning of the 15th century to the Lipník parish goods. The oldest town seal is from 1704 and shows a tree precipitating lumberjack.

After the abolition of patrimonial Podolí / Podoly formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Kremsier. Since 1880, the church belongs to the district Prerau. In 1955 in Podolí a private cemetery. Podolí was incorporated into Želatovice 1976. After the Velvet Revolution Podolí formed again in 1990 a separate municipality. Ethnographic the village belongs to Hanna.
