Předměřice nad Labem

Předměřice nad Labem ( German Predmeritz on the Elbe ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north of the city center on the outskirts of Hradec Králové and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Předměřice nad Labem is located on the right bank of the Elbe River on the East Bohemian panel. Through the village of Bach Luzina flows. To the east lies the airfield in Hradec Králové. By Předměřice leads the railway line Pardubice- Liberec, on the western edge runs the State Road 33 / E 67 of Hradec Králové by Smiřice.

Neighboring towns are Lochenice in the north, Skalička in the northeast, Rusek and Správčice in the east, in the southeast Pouchov, Kydlinov, Plácky and Plotiště nad Labem in the south, Bříza the southwest, Světí in the west and Neděliště in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Předměřice was 1397th In 1586 the village was affected along with Lochenice of a plague epidemic.

After the abolition of patrimonial Předměřice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Hradec Králové. 1856, the railway line west of the village was built and on October 3, 1857, the first train from Pardubice to Reichenberg. During the German War, the village was damaged by the military. On July 3, 1866 a few kilometers the battle of Hradec Kralove took place on the west Chlum and SVIB. 1871 saw the establishment of the "United rural sugar factory Predmeritz " whose 59 m high octagonal chimney towering over the village. 1913 a weir with keeper's house was built in Cubist style according to the plans of the architect Pavel Janak in the Elbe, which was destroyed in 1929 by an Elbe flood. Since 1919, the city contributes to the differentiation of an eponymous municipality official name suffix " nad Labem ". Between 1915 and 1925 there was a flow regulation of river Elbe. 1948, the sugar factory was nationalized. From 1949 to 1960, the community was associated with the Okres Hradec Králové - okolí. Since 1 January 1961, she again heard the Okres Hradec Králové. In 1998 the sugar factory stopped production.
