Pšánky

Pšánky ( German Psanek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Hořice and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Pšánky located creek in the southern foothills of the mountain country on Horschitzer Bašnický. To the northwest rises the Pískovka (294 m) and in the southeastern Stračovský boron ( 295 m).

Neighboring towns are Bříšťany in the north, and Cenov Stračov in the northeast, Stračovská Lhota, Mžany, and Zavadilka in the east, in the southeast Janov, Nerošov and Lodín in the south, Petrovice the southwest, Petrovičky in the west and Sukorady in the northwest.

History

Pšánky was probably founded in the 12th or 13th century. That pertains to the goods of the men of the village Petrovičky Blšany was first mentioned in writing in 1393. 1511 sold Hašek Zvířetický of Wartenberg its festivals in Petrovičky including the associated village Pšánky to Jan Krupá of Probluz. This closed Pšánky to the rule Bašnice. Several centuries remained Pšánky belonging to Bašnice. Together with Hořice, Mlázovice, Chvalina, Milovice u Hořic, Bříšťany and Petro Vice gave Ferdinand I. 1635 Pšánky Count Jakob of Strozzi Streitenhal. At the beginning of the 19th century the Counts of Harrach bought the village from the Strozzi and annexed it to the Good Stračov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Pšánky formed a municipality in the district of Hradec Kralove. At the end of the 19th century the church was transferred to the district Nová Paka. 1903 was the village of 32 houses and 162 inhabitants had. 1924 took place in the course of the land reform a subdivision of large estates of Count Harrach. From 1949 to 1960 Pšánky was assigned to the Okres Hořice, since 1961 it belongs again to Okres Hradec Králové. In 1971, the annexation to Petro Vice. Since 1993, the community is Pšánky again. Pšánky consists of 38 houses, whose center is a large village square.
