Randsfjorden Line

The Randsfjordbane (German Randsfjord railway ) is a railway line in Norway Drammen on Hokksund, Vikersund, Tyristrand, Hønefoss, Heen, Eggemoen to Randsfjord station at the southwest end of the eponymous lake at Jevnaker. It was the fifth railway line, which was built in Norway.

Construction of the line was already proposed in 1858 by Carl Abraham Pihl ​​.

The line was completed on 12 October 1868 as narrow gauge railway ( 1067 mm) and rebuilt with the construction of the funicular in 1909 on standard gauge and realigned Hønefoss to Randsfjord. Passenger Hønefoss to Randsfjord was decommissioned on 26 May 1968. Between Bergermoen and Randsfjord the total traffic from 1 January 1981 has been discontinued and removed the rails in 1984. Since then, about two kilometers of the route was extended as a pedestrian and bicycle path. Until January 7, 2001, there was Hønefoss to Hen still freight.
