Randy De Puniet
Randy De Puniet ( born February 14, 1981 in Maisons- Laffitte, France ) is a French motorcycle racer.
In 2010 he piloted a Honda in the MotoGP class of the Motorcycle World Championship.
Career
Randy De Puniet started his career in the French Motorcycle Championship, which he won in the 125 cc class in 1998. This year he made his debut as a wild card rider at the Grand Prix of France in the 125cc class of the World Championship.
The following season, 1999, De Puniet started in Team Competition at Scrab Aprilia permanently in the World Cup. He reached 26 points and finished in 18th place overall. In the following season, he finished an uneventful 17 World Cup ranking.
For the 2001 season, he then moved to the 250 cc class and drove in the Equipe de France team again with rather inconspicuous results an Aprilia. In 2002, De Puniet to Campetella team, where he could make the first time attention. He finished third twice and was WM- ninth.
Then in 2003 the Frenchman started on an Aprilia factory bike of Safilo Oxydo LCR team of Lucio Cecchinello. There he made the breakthrough. At the Grand Prix of Catalunya in Barcelona, he celebrated his first Grand Prix victory, this was followed by two more this season. With a total of nine podium finishes, he was with 208 points, fourth overall. In 2004, De Puniet could even increase to the third World Cup ranking, the 2005 season, he joined the Aspar Team Jorge Martínez on the eighth place overall from.
Nevertheless, De Puniet was committed in 2006 by Kawasaki for the MotoGP class. With the inferior motorcycle he showed solid performances and came up with 37 points on the 16 World Cup ranking. Also in 2007 was De Puniet in the Kawasaki Racing Team in the MotoGP class at the start. He reached in 18 races, only ten times the target and caused several accidents, including one Startkarambolage in San Marino, which forced him beside himself nor other drivers to the task. Nevertheless, De Puniet achieved in the races in which he finished, regularly finishes among the top ten, including fifth place in Catalonia, which he imports a lot of pain because of a previous fall. At the Grand Prix of Japan at Motegi he was even second and thus gained his first podium in the premier class. With 108 meters De Puniet came eleventh World Cup ranking.
For the 2008 season, Randy De Puniet Kawasaki left and starts again for the LCR Team Lucio Cecchinello on Honda.
