Remedios Amaya

Remedios Amaya (actually: María Dolores Amaya Vega, born May 1, 1962 in Seville ) is a Spanish flamenco singer.

She was a favorite of Camarón de la Isla Flamenco singer, with whom she worked at various events. It is one of the best contemporary singers of cante chico, the light and cheerful song, such as bulerías, tangos or Alegrías. However, they also sing other styles ( Palos ), such as soleá and Seguiriya. In her career as an artist, there are two clearly separated periods in her vocal style. Their first recordings Luna nueva (1983) and Seda en mi piel (1984 ) were so -called flamenco skirt. The then lack of international interest in flamenco then resulted in their participation as a representative of Spain at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1983 to a catastrophic result. Then withdrew Remedios Amaya from the stage. In 1997, she appeared again along with Vicente Amigo. This year, she published the work Turu Turai, which was sold 150,000 times.
