Renato Zanella
Renato Zanella ( born June 6, 1961 in Verona ) is an Italian ballet dancer, choreographer and director.
Life
Zanella studied classical dance in his native city. After high school he went to Rosella Hightower in Cannes at the Centre de Danse International. There he completed his ballet training. In 1982 he got his first engagement as a dancer in Basel at Heinz Spoerli. In 1985, he joined the Stuttgart Ballet. In 1993, by ballet director Marcia Haydée he was appointed Permanent choreographer of the Stuttgart Ballet. In 1995 he was appointed artistic director and chief choreographer of the Vienna State Opera. He held this office ten years until the end of season 2004/2005.
