René Toft Hansen ( born November 1, 1984 in Rybjerg Skive Municipality ) is a Danish handball player.
Career
The 2.00 -meter and 105 -pound pivot player played in his youth at HRH 74 Roslev and Skive fH. In the senior level, he came over HF Mors and Viborg HK in 2007 KIF Kolding. With Kolding he played in 2007/ 08 and 2008/09 European Cup winners as well as in the 2009/10 season in the EHF Champions League. In 2009 he was Danish Champion.
July 1, 2010 Hansen moved to AG København. There he won the championship in 2011 and 2012 in the Danish Håndboldligaen. In the Champions League season 2011/12 he failed with his team until the semi-finals at Atlético Madrid.
Since the summer of 2012 René Toft Hansen runs on top for the German club THW Kiel, with whom he won the 2013 DHB Cup.
René Toft Hansen made his debut in the Danish national team on 7 September 2005 in the match against Norway. So far he has played 83 international matches. At the World Championship 2011 in Sweden, he won the silver medal with the Danes, before with Denmark won the European Championship in Serbia, 2012. In summer 2012, he participated in the Olympic Games in London. 2013 he was with Denmark again runners-up. At the European Championships in 2014 in his own country, he was Vice-European Champion.
Private
René Toft Hansen has two brothers and two sisters. His brother Henrik playing handball at the German Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg, Allan ( * 1996) in the Danish first division club Mors -Thy Håndbold. His sister Majbritt (* 1993) plays in the Danish league in Skive FH, the youngest, Jeanette ( * 2000 ), in the youth department. Except for left-handed Jeanette are all county runners.
