Ricardo Sperafico

Ricardo Sperafico ( born July 23, 1979 in Toledo) is a Brazilian racing driver from the family Sperafico. He is the twin brother of Rodrigo and the cousin of Alexandre and the late Rafael Sperafico.

Sperafico began his career in 1990 in karting, which he held until 1996. In 1996, Sperafico in the British Formula Ford Winter Series first experience in single-seater racing, winning the championship directly. In the following season, he competed in the British Formula Ford and won the runner-up title. After initial success in Europe Sperafico moved back to South America and spent two seasons in the South American Formula 3 Championship at the start. After finishing ninth in his debut season, 1999, he was fourth in the overall standings. Then Sperafico 2000 returned to Europe and won the champion of Italian Formula 3,000.

In 2001 Sperafico in Formula 3000 for Petrobras Junior Team, which was supervised by Super Nova Racing. In his debut season he won the race in Spa -Francorchamps and was three times third. In the overall classification, he finished fifth. In 2002 he stayed with the Petrobras Junior Team and took his second Formula 3000 season in attack. Although he could not win a race, he improved in the standings to fifth place. His teammate was in both seasons his compatriot Antonio Pizzonia. 2003 remained Sperafico in Formula 3000 and contested as team-mate Zsolt Baumgartner his third season for Coloni Motorsport. Sperafico won the race in Zeltweg and Hockenheim and was runner-up behind Bjorn home.

After Sperafico had found no cockpit in 2004, he entered in 2005 in the Champ Car World Series at. Dale Coyne Racing for starting the Brazilians could not build on its previous achievements and was in 17th of the overall standings. Since 2007 Sperafico is active in the Stock Car Brasil Copa Nextel.

Although Ricardo Sperafico was more successful than its respective teammates Pizzonia and Baumgartner in Formula 3000, he made it, unlike the other two not in Formula 1
