Riemenstalden is a municipality in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland.
Riemenstalden belongs to the district of Schwyz and has the smallest population of all the Schwyzer community.
Geography
The center, located high above Lake Lucerne to 1,030 m above sea level. M. and is an access road of Sisikon (Canton Uri) ago reachable.
The Riemenstaldental is regularly hit by natural disasters, including avalanches, debris flows and traveling torrents.
Tourism
The Riemenstaldental is also known for its ski-touring area Lidernen, with the Blüemberg. This ski tour leads from Chäppeliberg on the Lidernen up to Blüemberg and then offers a descent over 1800 meters down to the Muotathal.
During the summer, hikes lead to the surrounding mountains of Kaiserstock chain, including via the Alplersee lake on the lookout mountain Rophaien.
Personalities
From 1824 to 1828 Alois Fuchs worked as a pastor and teacher in Riemenstalden.
Attractions
Worth seeing is Riemenstalden the Parish Church of Good Counsel, with its beautiful frescoes. There is a chapel dedicated to St. John the Roslaui in Chäppelimatt.
