Roberto Contreras

Roberto Contreras ( born December 12, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, † July 18, 2000 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Contreras began his acting career in the mid 1950s. As Hispanics he presented mostly Mexicans represent, often in the Western genre. Among his first film roles included the presentation of Carlos in The Curse of the Monte Bravo. Only once had he usually smallest supporting roles without attribution in the credits, among others in the films was torn, Gold, The Magnificent Seven and Alvarez Kelly. He also guest starred in television series such as Maverick, a thousand miles of dust and west of Santa Fe. Familiarity with the U.S. television audience, he obtained only from 1967 as Pedro in the Western series The High Chaparral, a role which he represented until 1971 in 59 episodes. After the series ended, he was still seen even into the 1980s as a guest in standard formats, and had, among others, in a small roll of film Scarface. Three times he stood next to his son Luis Contreras front of the camera, Fred Schepisi in The Ballad of the bandits Barbarossa, in the produced by Walter Hill action film Blue City as well as in Blood in, Blood out - conspired to life and death.
