Rock of Ages, subtitled The Band in Concert, a double album by the Canadian-American folk and country - rock group The Band. It is the fifth official album by the band, while their first live album. Recorded Rock of Ages from 28 to 31 December 1971 in New York City's Academy of Music. It was released on September 15, 1972 on the label, Capitol Records. The album earned not only mostly positive reviews, it is now often considered one of the best live albums of all time. It peaked in the U.S. Billboard album charts with 6th place and a far better position than its predecessors rather disappointing Cahoots.

Capitol decided to release as singles, two of the songs from Rock of Ages. Thus appeared in September 1972 Do not Do It with the live version of Rag Mama Rag as a B-side. The single made ​​it to the Billboard charts at least up to 34th in February 1973 came Caledonia Mission on the market, but failed on a chart entry. B- side was (I Do not Want to ) Hang Up My Rock and Roll Shoes.

On 8 May 2001 Capitol Rock of Ages released as a double album on CD, the first CD is the original album, the second contained a number of previously unreleased bonus tracks, which were also created at the concerts. In four of these tracks that the show was taken on December 31, Bob Dylan can be heard as a guest musician.
