Geography

Rohrbach is part of the planning region of Ingolstadt and is in the Hallertau in the triangle Munich, Ingolstadt and Augsburg district.

There are the following districts: Bucher Ried, Fahlenbach, Fürholzen, Gambach, Ossenzhausen, otters Ried, pipe, Rohrbach, Rinnberg and Waal.

History

Rohrbach is first mentioned in 869 in a document, the nun Peretkund passes it to the Bishop of Freising their property "ad rorpahe ". The Lords of Rohrbach were among the ministeriales the Wittelsbach dukes of Bavaria. The family died out in the 18th century. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria, but it was the seat of a closed Hofmark that was in 1800 in possession of the Barons of Dürsch. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the current municipality.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1971, until then independent municipality Waal was incorporated. On 1 July 1971 parts of the territory were added to the dissolved municipality castle stables. Tube followed on 1 January 1972. Uptake of Fahlenbach and Gambach closed on 1 January 1978 the series of incorporations from.

Population Development

On the territory of the municipality were 1970 2.983, 1987, 3461, 2013 counted 5,638 residents in 2000, 5,089 in 2011 and 5,576 a year. Until the turn of the millennium saw Rohrbach always one of the highest increases in the county municipalities. After the year 2000, this was reduced to a more organic growth. Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of agriculture and forestry 4, 258 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 157 persons work at the workplace. The site will extend along the main road from the outskirts near the train station to near the highway where a new interchange is planned. The areas in Bruckbach at the A9 have been part of the municipal reform to Wolnzacher hallway. After completion of the action Rohrbach will count along with Bruckbach to large commercial locations in the region.

Traffic

The municipality is the geographic and traffic- center of the district.

  • Rohrbach is located at the intersection of highways A9 Munich -Nuremberg and Munich -Regensburg A 93 ( Autobahndreieck Hallertau )
  • International commercial airport Munich - Rohrbach reachable in about 40 minutes via highway or country road ( direct connection) via Freising.
  • Rail connections to the high-speed line Nuremberg -Ingolstadt -Munich: Every half hour run from Rohrbach trains to Munich, Ingolstadt, Treuchtlingen and Nuremberg. The Rohrbach station is serviced regularly also from Munich -Nuremberg Express.

The railway line Munich -Ingolstadt (opening 1867) followed by the secondary lines of ( today Rohrbach- Ilm ) to Wolnzach Market ( 1894) and in the extension to the Main Castle (1895 ) and to Freising on Au and Langenbach (1909 ) ( Hallertauer local railway Wolnzach Station ). The north branch off branch line by Geisen field was opened in 1906. The completion of the ICE Munich- Nuremberg followed a century later in 2006.

The passengers on the Hallertauer branch lines was set 1969-1975, as well a few years later the freight. Today, the paths are mostly shut down (1996) and degraded (2004 ), there is only between Wolnzach and Rohrbach still freight. The mainly tailored to the student passenger traffic will be handled by single weekday bus service from the train station towards Wolnzach, Geisen field, long Bruck and Oberpfaffenhofen.
