The Diocese of Kaya was born on June 26, 1969 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ad patrisfamilias out of territory of the diocese of the Archdiocese of Koupéla and Ouagadougou. It is the Archdiocese Koupéla a suffragan.
