Roman Catholic Diocese of Keetmanshoop

The Diocese of Keetmanshoop ( Latin: Dioecesis Keetmanshoopensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Keetmanshoop in Namibia. The Diocese of Keetmanshoop is part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Windhoek. The main church of the diocese is the Cathedral of St. Stanislaus in Keetmanshoop.

In 2006, 27.8 % of the population were Catholics. They were supervised by two diocesan priests and 16 priests. There were nine deacons and 65 religious workers.

History

The diocese went on 14 March 1994 from the Prefecture Apostolic Magni Namaqueland (founded July 7, 1909 ), the subsequent Vicariata Apostolic Magni Namaqueland (founded July 14, 1930 ) and the Apostolic Vicariata Keetmanshoopensis (13 January 1949) produced.
