Roman Andreyevich Sludnow (Russian Роман Андреевич Слуднов, scientific transliteration novel Andreevič Sludnov; born February 24, 1980 in Omsk ) is a Russian swimmer.

Life

At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he won the bronze medal over 100 m breaststroke. In the preliminary rounds for the Olympics, he swam the first man over 100m breaststroke in under a minute.

In 2001, he was voted European Swimmer of the Year after he had won previously at the World Swimming Championships 2001 Gold medal in the 100 m breaststroke. In the European Swimming Championships in Budapest 2006 Sludnow won the gold medal over 100 m breaststroke and the 4 × 100 m medley relay.

On 29 June 2001 Sludnow reached in Moscow first a best time of under one minute 00:59,97 in 100 m breaststroke.
