Domenico Fioravanti

Domenico Fioravanti ( born May 31, 1977 in Novara ) is an Italian former swimmer.

He is one of the most successful Italian swimmers at all. At the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000, he was over 100 m and 200 m breaststroke each Olympic champion. He was the first Italian swimmer who won an Olympic gold medal. Previously, he had become each European champion in the 100 m breaststroke at the European Championships in 1999 and 2000. Because of heart problems he had to end his career in 2004.
