Ronald Sanders

Ronald Edward Sanders ( born June 20, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is a Canadian film editor.

Life

Ronald Sanders, son of the projectionist George Arthur Sanders studied until 1967 English history and political science at St. John's College, University of Manitoba in Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts. In his studies, he has worked as a camera assistant in student films. His passion for films drew him in the late 1960s to Toronto. First as an editor for documentaries worked, he worked in the early 1970s with the sound editor for feature films; soon thereafter as chief editor.

1979 Sanders worked in the film Fast Company for the first time along with David Cronenberg. 2007 14 other films from this collaboration Eastern Promises - Since occurred up to the film Eastern Promises. For four of which Sanders was awarded the Genie Award for Best Editing Award ( Dead Ringers, Crash, eXistenZ, Eastern Promises ). For the film, Spider, also from Cronenberg, he received the 2003 Directors Guild of Canada Team Award for Outstanding Achievement in a Feature Film, for which he was also nominated for Best Editing. This and the San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Editing, however, he was only three years later for Cronenberg's film A History of Violence.

In addition to the long-standing collaboration with Cronenberg Sanders also worked on numerous productions of other directors, including Henry Selick's animated film currently on Coraline, which premiered in early February 2009 at the Film Festival in Portland.

Also for television stations such as HBO cut Sanders Films (A Month of Sundays ); Dead Silence, he received a Gemini Award nomination.

Ronald Sanders has one daughter, Emma Claire, and is married to Marilyn Dill since 26 September 1969.
