Roque Olsen

Roque Germán Olsen Fontana ( born September 9, 1925 in Sauce de Luna, Entre Ríos, † June 15, 1992 in Seville) was an Argentine football player and coach.

Career

Olsen's playing career began in 1949 when Argentine club Tigre. A year later he moved to Racing Club Avellaneda, who had won the Argentine championship the year before. After only 15 games for this club Olsen went to Europe to Real Madrid. At Real Madrid, he spent seven years in which he won three Spanish championships, two Copa Latina and two European Cups as national champion. Olsen is with 60 goals in 110 league matches one of the top scorers in the history of Real Madrid. His career ended at the age of 34 years in 1959 at FC Cordoba.

The latter club was simultaneously Olsen's first coach station, where he in 1962 promotion to the Primera División helped. He then coached Deportivo La Coruna and Real Zaragoza before he coach of FC Barcelona in 1965.
