Sacabamba

Sacabamba is a town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

Sacabamba is the central place of the district ( bolivian: municipality ) in the Province of Esteban Arce Sacabamba. The village lies at an altitude of 3156 m on the left bank of the Río Challaque.

Geography

Sacabamba lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central. The climate is characterized by a typical diurnal climate where the average temperature between day and night is greater than between seasons.

The average annual temperature of the region is about 12 ° C (see climate chart Sacabamba ), the monthly average values ​​of between 8.5 ° C in June / July and 14 ° C in November / December fluctuate. Sacabamba lies at a distance of 77 kilometers of road southeast of Cochabamba, the capital of the department of the same name.

From Cochabamba the paved highway Ruta 7 results in a southeasterly direction 33 miles to Tolata, then a dirt road about 12 kilometers further south on Cliza by Toco. From there, the road continues another 32 kilometers to the southeast across Matarani after Sacabamba and on to Vila Vila and Mizque.
