Santa Ynez Valley AVA

Santa Ynez Valley AVA ( recognized since April 15, 1983) is an American Viticultural Area in the Santa Ynez Valley in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of ​​Santa Barbara County. The vineyard is part of the larger Central Coast AVA and is the most important Reblieferant of Santa Barbara County. The valley is bounded on the north by the Purisima Hills and the San Rafael Mountains and the south by the Santa Ynez Mountains. In the cooler west of the valley, the white grape Chardonnay is grown with success. In the warmer east, however, late-maturing varieties of the Rhône Syrah, Grenache and Roussanne are used.
