Santer Commission

As Santer Commission, the European Commission is designated under Commission President Jacques Santer, who was in office from 1995 to 1999. She followed after the Delors Commission III. Towards the end of their term, the Santer Commission was shaken by a corruption scandal Édith Cresson. After the European Parliament had threatened a no-confidence motion, the Commission met on 15 March 1999 back closed. In the later formed transition Marín Commission members and allocation of responsibilities, however, remained the same, only the President Santer and the current Vice President Manuel Marín exchanged items. Only for the Prodi Commission, which took office in late 1999, new Commissioners were appointed.
