São Brás de Alportel is a small town ( Vila ) and a circle ( concelho ) in Portugal. On 30 June 2011, the city had 10,693 inhabitants ² in an area of ​​153.4 km.

History

Discoveries prove the presence of man since the Paleolithic. From the 2nd century BC Romans lived here. In addition to excavations of tombs, a villa and other buildings and parts of a Roman road have been preserved, as Calçadinha Romana (English about: Roman pavement) can be visited.
