Oberschlatt

Schlattmann (referred to 1999 Schlattmann at Winterthur ) is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

It consists of the villages Unterschlatt, Oberschlatt, Walt Stone and Nussberg.

Schlattmann lies to the east of the canton of Zurich, between the cities of Winterthur and Turbenthal. Schlattmann belongs to the Zurich Oberland.

From the community area are 46.6 % agriculture, 45.6 % is forest area and 0.7 % are surface waters; 2.9% is traffic area and 3.6 % settlement area.

The municipality is bordered to the north by Schlattmann Elsau, to the east by Hofstetten, on the southeast by Turbenthal, in Suüdwesten to cell and to the west by the district capital of Winterthur.

Religions and denominations

At the time of the last survey in 2000 were by the inhabitants with economic residence in Schlattmann 74.9 % Reformed denomination, 12.3% Catholic, and 10.2% no religious affiliation. The remaining 2.6% are either followers of other faiths or did not enter anything.

History

The four villages Unterschlatt, Oberschlatt, Walt Stone and Nut Mountains, which form the current community Schlattmann should be Alemannic origin. The first written notice provide us with two gift certificates to the monastery of St. Gall. The earlier mentioned 744 the place Nuzperech ( Nussberg ), the other called 754 Slate, referring Unterschlatt. This monastic property managed by the Lords of Schlattmann ( 1094 is called by Slate Baron Hesso ), which lived in the castle to the church in 1361. Subsequently, these changed hands several times until it was rebuilt in 1568 to the rectory.

The church is mentioned in 1241 as the property of the knight Conrad of Schlattmann, 1475 in Zurich appointed the priest.
