Schoenberg is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate, near Thal catch. It belongs to the municipality Thalfang to the inheritance head.

Geography
Schönberg is located about 20 km east of Trier and 8 km from the junction of the A1 Mehring. The place is located in the Hunsrück, the highest elevation of the heritage head with 816 m above sea level. NN is. The heir head is about 6 km as the crow flies from the place. In Schoenberg the upper Little Dhron flows.
History
Schönberg belonged to the late 18th century to the Official St. Maximin in the Electorate of Trier and was a part of the high judicial district Detzem. Through the turmoil of the French Revolution Schoenberg came in 1794 under French rule and in 1815 part of the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946, Schoenberg is part of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Monoliths
On the boundaries of the local church are located at two different locations erected menhirs. North of the village, near the road Büdlicherbrück - Talling on the edge of the valley, is the existing of a quartzite boulder Menhir. The stone is 2.85 meters high, 1.35 meters wide and 0.95 meters thick, tapering upwards without sailing in a bit. The second is located near the transformer station on the outskirts of the county road 108 towards Schoenberg. He is 2.85 m long, 1.30 m wide and 1.10 meters thick. After regulation works the stone was about 50 meters north of the site replaced. He stands just east of the substation with two benches.
