Schwarzau in the mountains is a market town with 690 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Neunkirchen in Lower Austria.

With the natural park Falkenstein is one of the place to the recreation area in Vienna.

In Naßwald, one of Rotten, is a forest administration of the municipality of Vienna, which oversees the headwaters of the First Vienna Mountain Spring Pipeline. Moreover, in Naßwald to commemorate the founder of the compost, the Schwemmunternehmer and " Raxkönig " Georg Hubmer, has been named after him memorial set up in the form of a Holzknechthütte.

Geographical Location

History

Schwarzau

Originally a church hamlet. Around 1220 Schwarzau was associated with the princely demesne stone. From 1595 Hoyos'sche noble family held the patronage and mid-19th century came Schwarzau in the possession of the Imperial Count Hoyos.

Naßwald

From 1784 Protestant lumberjack from Gosau settled in Naßwald and founded the second oldest Protestant church in Austria.
