Scott DesJarlais

Scott Desjarlais ( born February 21, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Scott Desjarlais studied until 1987 at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, the chemistry and psychology. He then studied medicine at the same university. As a result, he practiced as a doctor. In 1993 he moved to Tennessee.

Politically, he joined the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 2010, he was appointed as their candidate in the fourth electoral district of Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded Lincoln Davis took 3 January 2011, he had beaten in the election. The election result was in the national trend, which saw the Republican Party on the rise in November 2010. His current term of office runs until January 3, 2013.

Desjarlais has with his second wife Amy three children. From his first marriage divorced in 2001 comes another child. After the release of a recording of a telephone conversation with his mistress was known that this was forced to undergo abortions a common child of Desjarlais in September 2000.
