Séglien

Séglien ( Breton: Seglian ) is a commune with 716 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pontivy Communauté.

Geography

Séglien located in the north of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.

Neighboring municipalities are Silfiac in the north, Cléguérec in the east, in the southeast Malguénac, Guern in the south, southwest, and Langoëlan Locmalo in the west.

The place is a bit out of lines for inter-regional traffic on the D18. The most important regional road link is the D782 from Guémené -sur -Scorff after Pontivy, which passes a few kilometers in the south. The closest connection to the N164 is about twenty miles to the north.

The major bodies of water are the Sarre River and the streams Moulin du Pont Houarn, Lanhouellic, Le Frétu, Manè Crez and Trescoët. These also form part of the municipal boundary. In addition, there are some small ponds in the municipality. A small part of the community area is covered by forests.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Bourlet (French Pays Pourlet ) and shares his story. Since 1793 Séglien belongs to the canton Cléguérec.
