Sesil Karatantcheva

Sesil Karatantschewa ( Bulgarian Сесил Каратанчева, English Sesil Karatantcheva, . Born August 8, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Kazakh tennis player. By 2008, she went to for Bulgaria.

Career

Since 2003 Karatantschewa playing on the professional tour. On ITF level, she won seven singles titles so far.

In 2004, she reached the WTA tournament in Indian Wells the third round and it lost to Maria Sharapova in three sets. In the WTA tournament in Quebec City, she came to the quarterfinals. In the same year she played for the first time in the Fed Cup, at that time for the Bulgarian team.

In early 2005 they met at the tournament from Gold Coast before the quarter-finals. At the French Open her by reaching the quarter-finals in 2005 succeeded her biggest success at a Grand Slam tournament. In December, told the French newspaper L' Equipe that Karatantschewa had been tested during the French Open positive on the doping agent nandrolone. In January 2006, she was subsequently banned by the ITF for two years.

In 2008 she returned to the tour and achieved some success on the ITF level. But it came to a dispute with the Bulgarian Tennis Federation, as they are not as planned took in the Fed Cup and instead played a tournament in La Quinta. In January 2009 Karatantschewa participated in the Kazakh nationality, since she plays for the Kazakhstan's Fed Cup team.

After the 2010 Australian Open she failed to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for two years. Only at the French Open in 2012 she managed the turn; in the second round, however, she was beaten in three sets Carla Suárez Navarro.
