Shammi Kapoor

Shammi Kapoor (Hindi: शम्मी कपूर sammi kapur, born 21 October 1931 in Bombay; † August 14, 2011 ibid, real name Shamsher Raj Kapoor ) was an Indian film actor.

Life

He started in 1948 in the Prithvi Theatre his father Prithviraj Kapoor with acting. He had failed in 1953 Jeevan Jyoti, but it was the success in the 1950s, his film debut. With a changed outfit then he found his niche in the 1960s as " rebellious " hero and thus entered in contrast to the major mainstream actors of Bollywood film this time Raj Kapoor ( his older brother), Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar.

With his first color film Junglee (1961 ), he established himself as a young star in simple entertainment films. In 1968 he won for his role in Brahmachari the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His films began to flop because he physically strong put on weight and he lost his image in the emerging new Star Rajesh Khanna. After unsuccessful attempts as a director, but Kapoor received a 1982 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata.

In 1995, the computer- obsessed Shammi Kapoor Internet Users Club of India ( IUCI ). In the same year he Filmfare Award / life's work of 1994 was awarded. He played in more than 100 films.

Shammi Kapoor was part of the Kapoor acting dynasty, which also includes his younger brother Shashi Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are.
