Sicaya Municipality

The municipality Sicaya is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Sicaya is one of three Municipalities of the province Capinota. It is bordered to the west and south by the province Arque, on the east by the municipality of Capinota, and to the north by the province Quillacollo.

The central location of the municipality is Sicaya with 374 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality. (2001)

Geography

The municipality Sicaya extends along the middle reaches of the river Arque and lies between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west, the Cordillera Central in the south and the Cordillera Oriental in the north and northeast.

The climate is a typical diurnal climate, in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night are more pronounced than the temperature differences between summer and winter. The annual average temperature is about 10 ° C (see climate chart Arque ), the monthly values ​​vary between 6-7 ° C in June / July and 13 ° C from November to January.
