Sílvio Manuel Pereira

Sílvio Manuel Azevedo Ferreira Sá Pereira, short Sílvio, ( born September 28, 1987 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player. He is since 2011 with Atlético Madrid under contract, but is currently playing on loan at Benfica.

Career

Clubs

Sílvio began his career in the youth of SL Benfica. In 2006 he moved to AC Cacém, 2007 Odivelas FC. Again, he left the club again after a year and moved to Rio Ave FC. There Sílvio debuted on 24 August 2008 in the elite league of Portugal against his former club SL Benfica. In his two years Sílvio has always been a regular player.

For the 2010/11 season Sílvio moved to SC Braga. Here he became the starting players. In the Europa League, he came with his club to the finals, where you failed 0-1 at FC Porto.

For the 2011/12 season Sílvio moved to Atlético Madrid. There, however, he did not come out on the role of Einwechselspielers because it usually Juan Francisco was brought forward to his position. With his team he won in May 2012, the UEFA Europa League.

After Sílvio had been used in the first round of the 2012/13 season only once, he joined in January 2013 on loan until end of season to Deportivo La Coruna. With the club from Galicia he rose at the end of the season in the Segunda División. For the 2013/14 season he returned on loan to SL Benfica back in the Primeira Liga.

National

Sílvio is currently A-National player of his home country. He debuted on September 7, 2010 under the then coach Carlos Queiroz.
