Å imanov

Šimanov ( German cellar village, also Schimanow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers southeast of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Šimanov located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at the western buckets of the hill Holubovsko (675 m) above the creek valley of the brook Hejnický. In Šimanov the Maršovský springs creek. To the northwest lies the pond Hajnice, south of the Maršovský fishpond fishpond and in the east of Trojansky. To the north rises the Strážník (713 m) and west of the Čihadlo (664 m).

Neighboring towns are Kalhov, Obora and Bethan in the north, Větrný Jenikov in the northeast, Struhovec and U Trojanů in the east, Hlávkov and Bily Kámen in the southeast, Jiřín, U Šeredů and Maršov in the south, Simanovsky Dvůr and Zbilidy the southwest, Brezina, Čamrda, Dudín and Buková to the west and Ústí and Branišov in the northwest.

History

The village on the old trail between Humpolec and Jihlava was probably founded around 1260 by charcoal burners. Since 1 February 2009, the community is forced to be managed by a Temporary Administrator.
