Skalice (Hradec Králové District)

Skalice ( German United Skalitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north of the city center on the outskirts of Hradec Králové and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Skalice is located on the left bank of the Elbe on a ridge above the creek Malostransky creek on the East Bohemian panel. To the south lies the airfield in Hradec Králové.

Neighboring towns are Smiřice in the north, Číbuz and Na Drahách in the northeast, Újezd ​​in the east, in the southeast of Bukovina, Piletice in the south, Rusek in the southwest, Skalička in the west and Trotina in the northwest.

History

Skalice was first mentioned in documents in 1143, when Bishop Otto the village on suitable Strahov Monastery.
