Skalička (Přerov District)

Skalička ( German Skalitschka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-east of Hranice and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Skalička is on the left above the valley of Bečva in Kelečská pahorkatina ( Keltscher hill country). The village lies on a ridge between the valleys of the streams and creek Hluboký Nihlovský creek. North of the Cerna (304 m) and Hurka rise ( 337 m), in the northeast of the Na Strážnici ( 353 m ) southeast of the Stražisko (335 m) and to the south the Strážné ( 399 m). Against the southwest extends the forest area Nihlovský les.

Neighboring towns are Hluzov and spicky in the north, Kamenec, Milotice nad Bečvou and Hustopeče nad Bečvou in the Northeast, Pod Doubravou, Na Valse and Lešná in the east, Ve Včelárně and Zámrsky the southeast, Dolni Těšice and Horni Těšice in the south, Malhotice and Opatovice in southwest, Ústí and Nové Sady in the west and Zbrašov and Černotín in the northwest.

History

Archaeological discoveries in the Grand Nihlovský creek evidence of a settlement of the area since the Paleolithic. The first mention of Scalicz was in 1329, when the Olomouc Bishop Hynko Vlcek of Domky enfeoffed of the goods. The town's name derives from the Jurakalkfelsen in Hrabí forest. Since 1429, the village belonged to the parish Keltscher villages. In 1412 the place as Skalička, from 1675 called Skalycžka or Skalicžka and 1798 as Skalitschka. From 1429 Skalička belonged to the parish Keltscher villages the parish registers was conducted there from 1662. The Episcopal vassals were, inter alia, the Žernovský of Žernov, as their possession since 1554 has been called the first time the parties. Since 1618, the Ullersdörfer of Nimptsch had held the fief over 120 years. In the mid-18th century, the village of 13 estates and four Chaluppen existed. After the escheat of the goods sold in 1738 for the diocese Skalička 18,000 florins to Christoph Erdmann Baron Minkwitz of Minkwitzburg. Between 1750 and 1770 a school was established in the village. Christoph Erdmann's son Otto Minkwitz, the Skalička 1799 had inherited, sold the property to Richard Freiherr von Mattencloit. This sold it in 1807 to Francis Quiard Count Saint Julien, who converted the fortress into a castle Empire. Until the mid-19th century Skalička always remained an independent fief.

After the abolition of patrimonial Skalička / Skalitschka formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Moravian white churches. In 1854 the manor was a Count Strachwitz, who fathered a child outside marriage in Skalička. He was followed from 1858 the Count Stockau and in 1864 the family of Dubský. This sold the estate, which had served them as a summer residence, 1876 for 90,000 with the Archbishop of Olomouc. In 1870 a new school building was inaugurated. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1893. According to the founding of Czechoslovakia a real estate fund for the compartmentalization of the archbishop's large estates and Kelč Kamenec was established in the summer of 1919 Skalička. 1924 was the construction of the road from the castle gate to Ústí. The Bus transfer from Kelč after Hranice was added two years later. The Sokol founded in 1921, dedicated in 1928 his gym in the former stately memory one; later it was converted to a community center. In 1930 Skalička was connected to the electricity grid.   • Skalička Castle and Castle Park, it was built in 1807 for Count Franz Quiard Saint Julien in the Empire style instead of detectable since 1554 celebrations.   • Windmill in the hallway Skalečníky, on the southeastern outskirts of the village.
