Skin and Bones is the first official live album by the Foo Fighters after the live bootleg Brain Damage. It was taken in late August 2006, during the USA Acoustic Tour at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. The band was reinforced here by violinist Petra Haden, Foo Fighters Founding Member & Nirvana guitarist Pat Smear and keyboardist Rami Jaffee. With Marigold and Friend of a Friend of the CD / DVD also includes songs that Dave Grohl has written at that time still in Nirvana.
The CD contains 15 songs. On the DVD are six more songs of Acoustic Tour. In England Skin and Bones is offered as a double DVD, which also includes 14 songs from the live concert in London's Hyde Park. Lemmy Kilmister As guests join Shake Your Blood and Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen at Tie Your Mother Down in appearance.
