Slam Dunk Contest
The Slam Dunk Contest of the U.S. professional basketball league NBA is a competition in which selected players perform spectacular as possible artistic dunks, so basket litters where players jump press the basketball through the basket from above. They will be judged by five judges. Each judge may with 6 - review 10 points per Dunk, which means that a Dunker per round between 30 and 50 points gets. At the end of the competition, the points gained are added. The Dunker with the most points wins and gets a trophy.
The competition was introduced in 1984 as part of the NBA All- Star Game in Denver and will be held annually since then at the NBA All-Star Weekend. 1998 and 1999, the contest was not held because the willingness to participate in the player was dropped. However, the NBA followed the desire of the audience and led the contest in 2000 again.
The only 1,75 m wide Nate Robinson is the first NBA player who has won the Slam Dunk Contest three times (2006, 2009, 2010 ).
