Jason Richardson

Jason Anthoney Richardson ( born January 20, 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan) is a professional basketball player in the NBA, where he currently occupies the shooting guard position for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Life and career

During his time at Michigan State University, he won an NCAA championship along with other NBA players today. In NBA Draft 2001, he was selected by the Golden State Warriors in fifth position.

Richardson played a total of six years for the Warriors. During this time he was one of the most spectacular and most popular Warriors player. He also had his best time at the Warriors. So achieved during the 2004-05 season, 21.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. 2005-06, he increased his points total to 23.2 points per game, which meant his best year.

In August 2012, Richardson was then transferred to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Due to clashes with a fan, he was sentenced in May 2007 to a fine of $ 35,000. On 28 June 2007 was issued (along with the draft rights to Jermareo Davidson ) to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for the draft rights to Brandan Wright Jason Richardson of the Warriors. For the Phoenix Suns, he was transferred in December 2008 along with Jared Dudley for Raja Bell, Boris Diaw and Sean Singletary.


  • In February 2002, he was named the best rookie of the month. At the end of the year he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie First Team. He finished 3rd in the poll for best rookie.
  • In the Rookie Challenge as part of NBA All-Star Weekend, he was elected MVP, making him the first player to win the MVP award in the Rookie Challenge and at the same time the slam dunk contest.
