Smržov (Hradec Králové District)

Smržov ( German Smrschow, 1939-45 Morchelheid ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers east of Smiřice and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Smržov is located on the East Bohemian panel on the southwestern edge of the forest area Rasošky les in the valley of the brook Smržovský creek. To the west, the ridge rises Bily Kopec (262 m).

Neighboring towns are Rasošky in the north, Nový Ples and Čápovka in the northeast, Lejšovka in the east, in the southeast Librice, Černilov and Na Drahách in the south, Hubíles the southwest, Smiřice in the west and Vlkov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was 1490, when the owner of the village, Hašek Strizek of Lužany, the rule Smiřice bought. 1588 consisted of 13 settlers Smržov places.

After the abolition of patrimonial created in 1850 that pertains to the district municipality Koniginhof Smržov - Hubilesy. Both villages presented alternately the mayor. 1895, the village school was built. In the year 1896, Smržov and Hubilesy separated and each formed their own communities. During the time of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the village received the Germanized name Morchelheid. Between 1949 and 1960 the town belonged to Okres Jaroměř. After its dissolution, she came to the beginning of 1961 to Okres Hradec Králové. The school was closed in 1966. 1967 Hubíles was incorporated.

The municipality consists of the villages Smržov Hubíles ( Hubiles ) and Smržov ( Smrschow ).
