Smythe Division

The Smythe Division was one of the divisions in the North American professional hockey league NHL. The league was divided into two Conferences to 1993 ( Campbell Conference and Prince of Wales Conference), which in turn were divided into Divisions. One was the Smythe Division, which was established in 1974 as part of the Campbell Conference.

With the expansion of the league in 1993 and the subsequent new formation of leagues system, the Division was relieved by the Pacific Division.

Named was the Smythe Division by Conn Smythe, founder of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Edmonton Oilers are six championship titles at the end of the regular season the giants of the Smythe Division.
