Sofija Novoselić

Sofija Novoselic ( born January 18, 1990 in Zagreb) is a Croatian alpine skier. Your strongest discipline is the slalom.

Biography

After initial successes at national level Novoselic started in December 2005 for the first time in FIS races. From 2006 to 2010 she participated in five World Junior Championships, where they scored several top 30 results, its best result a 17th place in the slalom in 2007. Also in 2007, she won the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Jaca. A second medal in the slalom she missed just four hundredths of a second. Since the season 2006/2007 Novoselic will also start in the World Cup as well as in Europe and Nor- Am Cup. In the World Cup Novoselic has played only slalom race, but remained a long time without countable result, since they could not qualify for the second round of the top 30. In the European Cup, they scored for the first time in February 2008 with 28th place in the slalom Candanchú; her best result to date is a 18th in the giant slalom in Limone Piemonte on December 20, 2010. In Nor- Am Cup they started to date the last time on December 5, 2008 at the slalom in Loveland, where she can accommodate 13 her best result reached in this series.

In February 2007, Novoselic took in Åre, Sweden for the first time at a World Cup finals and was ranked 27 in the slalom. Two years later she was at the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere French 33 of the slalom. In the giant slalom she stayed both times without result. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, she launched only in the slalom, where she finished in 39th place. On January 4, 2011, we succeeded Sofija Novoselic to first qualify for the second round of a World Cup race. At their home race of Snow Queen Trophy on Sljeme in Zagreb, she finished third in the final standings in 25th place and thus won her first World Cup points. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, she was 28 in the slalom and 43rd in the giant slalom.
