The Samtgemeinde Soegel is a community association in Lower Saxony Emsland. It was created in 1974 through the merger of many smaller places. Soegel was before 1932 seat of the county Hümmling and in the 18th century an even larger administrative area, as the river name promised Ems shows (from " Sögeler Ems ").

Geographical Location

The Samtgemeinde Soegel covers most of the Geest Hümmling. Fifteen kilometers west of the village core runs the Ems, 16 km south the hare.
