Sondra Radvanovsky

Sondra Radvanovsky (* April 11, 1969 in Berwyn, Illinois) is an American opera singer (soprano ). She celebrated especially in Verdi operas successes, including as Elvira in Ernani, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Elena in I vespri siciliani, Elisabetta in Don Carlos and Amelia in the masked ball.

Life

Radvanovsky was born in a suburb of Chicago and moved to Richmond ( Indiana) at age 11. In Richmond she was at the age of 21 years for the first time in an opera role on stage. Radvanovsky studied drama and voice at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her training with from the Tanglewood Music Center and the Conservatory of the University of Cincinnati. After 1995, the " National Council Auditions " won the New York Metropolitan Opera, she was admitted this opera house in the " Lindemann Young Artist Development Program ". Among her teachers were Martial Singher, Ruth Falcon and Diana Soviero.

Radvanovsky sang at the major opera houses of the world, such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London), the Paris Opera, La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the San Francisco Opera. At the Metropolitan Opera she has been singing for years significant roles in their field in the Italian repertoire, including Leonora in David McVicar 's production of Il Trovatore.

Her repertoire includes the title roles in Puccini's Suor Angelica and Tosca, Floyd's Susannah and Dvořák's Rusalka.

The tenor and theater director Plácido Domingo is one of their sponsors.

Radvanovsky is married and lives in a suburb of Toronto.
