South Korea Davis Cup team

The South Korean Davis Cup team is the national team of South Korea tennis. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.

History

Since 1960, South Korea takes part in the Davis Cup. Three times the team played in the World Group (1981, 1987, 2008), but never got beyond that of the first round. In the match against Pakistan in 2003, Kim Young -jun and Aqeel Khan featured on the still current record for the longest tiebreak in the Davis Cup: Kim kept with 19:17 just the upper hand. The most successful player is Lee Hyung- taik with a total of 51 victories, the same is also a record player with 30 appearances in 14 years.
