South Korea men's national volleyball team

The South Korean national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best South Korean players, the Korea Volleyball Association represents in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World Championships

In the Volleyball World Cup 1956 South Korea came in 18th place. 1974 took the Koreans in part for the second time and were Thirteenth. Four years later, she reached the fourth best result so far. After the eighth place in 1982 they missed the World Cup 1986. During the 1990s, the results were variable (14, 8, 13). In the 2002 World Cup South Korea was not going in Japan in 2006 remained after the preliminary round off only the 17th place.

Olympic games

South Korea was the first Olympic tournament in Tokyo in 1964 it was tenth. 1972 and 1976 the Koreans increased to seventh and sixth respectively. 1984 in Los Angeles, they managed to place five best result so far. At the 1988 Games in their own country they could, however, do not benefit from home advantage and cut as bad as eleventh from than ever before. There followed three ninth places.

Asia Cup

At the premiere of volleyball Asian Cup 1975 South Korea had to be only beaten the Japanese. Four years later, the Koreans were subject to the final against China. After two third places they won in 1989 as a host against Japan for the first time the title. In 1991, the Japanese revenge, but two years later was re Asian champions South Korea, this time against Kazakhstan. World Cup

In the first three appearances in the World Cup South Korea in 1977, 1985 and 1989 respectively seventh. In 1991 there were the fifth best result. World League

At the World League tournaments from 1991 to 1994 South Korea gained placements between eight and ten. In 1995, the Koreans increased to sixth place. After a year break, they were twice eleventh. In 2006, she returned, but more than ten ranks and nine was not possible. 2009-2011 it reached even to the ranks of 13, 16 and 13 again
