The first director was Dr. Sarot Buasri. 1953 she was converted into a Teachers College and received the right to confer bachelor's degree for education in a number of subject areas.

Subsequently, a series of training courses for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs have been developed. 1964 saw the establishment of branch facilities in various regions of the country:

  • In the north of Phitsanulok Campus, since 1990, Naresuan University
  • In the northeast of the Maha Sarakham campus, since 1994, the University Maha Sarakham
  • In the southeast of Bang Saen Campus, since 1990, the Burapha University
  • In the south of Songkhla Campus, since 1996, the Thaksin University

On June 28, 1974, she was awarded university status
