Staré Město (Frýdek-Místek District)

Staré Město ( Old German ) is a town in the Czech Republic. It is two and a half kilometers south-east of the center of Frýdek- Místek and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

Staré Město is located on the right side of the Ostravice on the southeastern outskirts of Frýdek- Místek between the mouths of the Morávka and Baštice in Beskidenvorland. In the southeast of the hill rises Hůrky (342 m). To the south lies the reservoir Baska.

Neighboring towns are Frýdek in the north, Panské Nové Dvory in the northeast, Dobra and Na Kamenci in the east, in the southeast Skalice, Zbytky, Baska and Kunčičky u Bašky in the south, southwest, and Místek Bahno in the west.

History

In the year 1305 took place in the registers of the diocese of Breslau the first mention of the village Jannutha. 1327 Jannutha or Jamnice was in a deed Duke Casimir III. of Teschen called oppidiscum municionibus with a situated on the ancient trade route from Moravia to Teschen festivals. After removing the celebrations for sovereign Friedeck castle was built around 1340 close to Jamnice the new city Friedeck to which the trade route was laid out. It is believed that Jamnice is identical to Staré Město, however, could not be given an evidence.

Since the 1573 spin-off made ​​the rule Friedeck from the Duchy of Teschen old town belonged to the middle of the 19th century Fried Ecker rule.

From 1850 formed Old Town / Stare Mesto a municipality in the district of Teschen. From 1908 the town belonged to the district Friedeck. After the Second World War, Stare Mesto was assigned to the Okres Místek and came in 1961 after the dissolution of the Okres Frýdek- Místek. In 1979 the village was incorporated as Frýdek- Místek 5 - Staré Město in the Twin Cities Frýdek- Místek. In 1990, the municipality Staré Město arose again. Since 1998, Staré Město leads a coat of arms and banners. The consecration was performed by Bishop František Lobkowicz.
