Ștefan Iovan

Ştefan Iovan ( born August 23, 1960 in Moţăţei, Dolj county ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. The defender played 365 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and was captain of the team of Steaua Bucharest, who won the European Champions Cup in 1986.

Career as a player

The career of Iovan started at FCM Resita, where he arrived at the age of 17 years in the first team and on September 4, 1977 his first game in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A denied. At the end of his first season with the club rose from the Divizia B.

After a year at Luceafarul Bucharest Iovan returned in 1979 after Resita. National

Iovan played 35 games for the Romanian national football team, scoring three goals.
