Stéphane Tissot

Stéphane Tissot (* May 30, 1979 in Bonneville ) is a French former alpine skier, who was especially successful in the slalom. He reached in this discipline two podium finishes in the World Cup, two victories in the European Cup twice and was French Champion.

Career

Tissot denied his first FIS race on January 1995. On a European Cup races he first participated in March 1997, regularly at the start but it was only from December 2001. Already in his first season he celebrated a victory, came four more times on the podium and was able to win the slalom standings.

His debut in the World Cup had Tissot on December 10, 2001 in Madonna di Campiglio. He immediately took eleventh place. However, this result he could not repeat a long time, because in the next four years he could finish of 31 World Cup races, only five at the finish. Positive exception was this tenth place in Beaver Creek on December 5, 2004 dar. he had a good success at the 2005 World Championships in Bormio, where he was the best Frenchman tenth slalom ranking.

In his first World Cup race of the season 2005/ 06 Tissot drove on December 4, 2005 in Beaver Creek with the fastest time in the second run surprisingly in second place. This result he repeated on March 18, 2006 in Åre. With three other places in the top seven, he reached the sixth place in the slalom World Cup this season. But, on his part in the Olympics in Turin in 2006 he fell out in the first slalom run.

At the beginning of the season 2006/ 07 succeeded Tissot finished fourth to join in Levi to his previous year's results. Thereafter, however, he could not finish two races. In a heavy fall in the Aosta Valley on 23 December 2006, he retired to a tibia and fibula fracture and was almost two years incur no race. Only in the 2008/ 09 season he again took part in the Ski World Cup, but won in this or next winter World Cup points. He qualified in these two years only once, in the night slalom in Schladming in January 2009, for the second round, but fell out of there. Finally, Tissot finished his career after the 2009/10 season.
