2007 Alpine Skiing World Cup

The season 2006/2007 the FIS Alpine World Cup, organized by the should start on 28 October 2006 in Sölden. Because of the warm weather, the two giant slaloms but had to be canceled and has not been rescheduled. The first race therefore took place in the Finnish Levi on 11 November 2006. The season ended on 18 March 2007 during the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide.

After numerous weather-related cancellations and postponements were 36 races in the men discharged (11 runs, 5 Super G, Giant Slalom 6, 10 slalom and Super 4 combinations). In the women's 35 races were on the (9 runs, 7 Super -G, Giant Slalom 7, 9 slalom and Super 3 combinations) program. At the end of the season, a team competition was held for the second time.

The overall World Cup the men was in the last race, the slalom in Lenzerheide, decided: Aksel Lund Svindal had before this race 1252 points, Benjamin Raich 1155 points. Had Raich won the slalom and Svindal would not have gone in the top 15, Raich would still become World Cup winners. After the first slalom through Raich was the first and twelfth Svindal. Svindal had no particularly good second run and fell behind four before him started back runners. But immediately started after him Swede Markus Larsson binned behind him, which Svindal just stayed in the points. Although Raich won the slalom, but Svindal received for his 15th place 16 points and was World Cup winner with 1268 points, ahead of Raich with 1255 points. This projection of 13 points was then the scarcest ever achieved relative advantage in the men (the second had 98.97 % of the points of the winner ), but this was two years later by the same protagonists still significantly undercut (2 points, 99.8 % ).

The highlight of the season was the World Ski Championships, which took place from 3 to 18 February 2007 at Åre, Sweden.
